India’s Bangladesh Tour Faces Uncertainty as Tensions Rise

India's tour of Bangladesh

India’s tour of Bangladesh was supposed to take place from August 17 to 31, with the teams scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is. However, it is likely that the tour will not take place. Although it has not been officially announced yet, multiple insiders suggest that the games will be canceled. The main reason for this decision is the deteriorating diplomatic relations between the countries.

Signs of Impending Match Cancelation

Experts see the first signs that the tour will be canceled (or at best postponed) in the fact that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has suspended the sale of media rights. The technical and financial bidding was scheduled for July 7 and 10.

BCCI officials are yet to comment on the situation, but an official on condition of anonymity told reporters that a decision should be taken within a week. The current match and tour schedule for the Bangladesh national team can be seen below.
