KKR’s Harshit Rana Included in India’s Test Team for Headingley Match

On Friday, June 20, the Indian team will play their first game against England in a five-match clash. It will be held at Headingley, Leeds. According to BCCI reports, Harshit Rana will feature in this game. The player has been officially included in the roster and will be available to the coaching staff. The bowler spent last season in the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He amassed 15 wickets in 13 matches.
Recently, a senior BCCI official noted that Rana was staying with the Men in Blue as a cover for a few players dealing with minor injuries. Although the names of these cricketers have not been disclosed, it is confirmed that Harshit traveled with the squad to Leeds from London on Tuesday. In his career, he has played two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20I.
Coach Coming Soon
In another big news, it has been reported that India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir will be joining the team soon. As expected, it is likely to happen on Tuesday. He had earlier taken an emergency flight from London to New Delhi for family reasons, but apparently his presence near his loved ones is no longer required, so the coach will be able to manage the India team on his own.
