SRH's Shami Accused of Illicit Activities by Estranged Wife

Fans in India are actively discussing the latest development in the widely discussed legal dispute between star bowler Mohammed Shami of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan. A few days after the court ordered the cricketer to pay monthly alimony of ₹4 lakh to the woman and their daughter Aaira, she made another sensational statement.

What happened? 

Jahan posted on her Instagram account, accusing Shami of hiring criminals to “harm, defame, and harass her” throughout the legal battle between the parties. It has been going on for more than seven years. In her post, the former model did not mince words, calling the player “characterless, greedy, and mean-minded”. Hasin accused him of spending money intended for their family on “prostitutes and crooks.” It should be noted that in 2018, Jahan first accused Mohammed of domestic violence against her. This led to the dissolution of their four-year marriage.

During the protracted legal proceedings, the cricketer has consistently maintained his innocence. These unpleasant events have not prevented him from continuing to play for the Indian national cricket squad and in the IPL. In the last league season, he amassed 337 runs and took 6 wickets in nine matches for SRH. His team finished sixth in the group stage with 6 wins in 14 games and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
